Book Review of Us by Curtis Wiklund

Summary:

Inspired by his wife, artist and wedding photographer Curtis Wiklund sketched a new drawing every day for a year. The result is this collection of adorable illustrations depicting the tender, true moments the couple shares. From winter walks to end of day cuddles, inside jokes to impromptu forts, this dreamy art has already captured the hearts of thousands of fans around the world. Now, in the book form, Us delights as a gift and a keepsake.

My review:

Art has a way to soothe your soul. It will find the dark nooks and corners of your heart and fill them with bright light. I picked this book up for the same reason too. I was feeling particularly down one night and I had no clue what to do about it. I remembered that I have this copy with me and I started flipping through its pages.

The artwork was so casual yet so perfect. It soothed my senses and calmed me. The sweetness of the relationship hit me right in the feels and made me feel better that there is still love in the world. The book is a collection of Wiklund’s everyday art, capturing his moments with his wife. The best part about the book is the little caption he has left below every drawing.

Some drawings that I really adored:

For me, the book was heart warming and light. If you want to gift something to your loved one, I think this would be perfect.
